Bryce Dodges A Bullet, Has A "Significant Bone Bruise" And Is Hopeful To Return This Season

Live look at Bryce:

All things considered, that’s the best possible news. No damage to the ACL or MCL, no torn ligaments, no career threatening injury or anything like that. It looked awful last night, and while he’s not in the clear, a significant bone bruise doesn’t sound too bad. And he’s expected to return this season:

I mean, the bad luck the Nats have had with injuries this season is something else. From losing Adam Eaton, to Trea, to Werth, to Stras, (plus Ross, Koda, and Kelley) and now this. Downright ridiculous!

Thankfully the Nats have a 14.5 game lead in the division, so they can be as cautious as possible with Bryce. Let him rest and heal as long as possible. Sucks for his MVP season (which he should still win but whatever), but it’s great that he isn’t getting surgery after his knee bent backwards last night.
