The Yankees Beat The Red Sox In 16 Innings

What an exhausting day watching TV. Almost 6 hours and every available player later, the Yankees pulled out a for the most part ugly win over Boston.

Severino looked great today giving us 7 innings of 1 run ball. He came out throwing gas and was still at 100mph during his last pitches of the game. It’s not rare to see a guy hit 100 mph in today’s game, but to see a guy do it for 100 pitches is amazing and gives us all a peek into how dominant Severino could be.

On the other side of the ball we were up against Chris Sale so only getting 3 hits through 8 innings wasn’t really much of a surprise. Sale is the most dominant pitcher in the game right now so your best bet is to try to stay in the game and get to the bullpen. Unfortunately, the Red Sox also have Craig Kimbrel so it looked as if we were cooked, until Matt Holliday came up in the 9th and tied things up.

After that we were treated to a series of anxiety attacks thanks to our shaky bullpen. We got a lesson in how not to bunt for Ronald Torreyes. To top things off, we got to watch 40 replay challenges of clear plays. Then in the 16th inning, Didi Gregorious who struck out for Frazier in the 9th, drove in the go ahead run for the Yankees.

With another 18 inning tomorrow, our bullpen is in shambles and our position players are exhausted. Luckily Boston is dealing with the same situation so as much as it’s going to be a mess with rosters and lineups, we’re on a level playing field.

PS: It looks like a good crowd was out for today’s watch party so keep an eye out for more.
