Indiana Men Shoot It Out Wild West Style After Savage ‘Your Mom’ Joke
“No charges will be filed against an Indianapolis firefighter who shot his neighbor after the man pulled out a gun while riding a lawn mower, Johnson County Prosecutor Brad Cooper said Wednesday.
The June 27 showdown was captured on security video, Cooper said, noting it clearly shows Jeffrey S. Weigle, 59, raising a handgun just before Dean Keller, 49, shot him multiple times in the 1200 block of Campbell Road just east of Greenwood.
Keller claimed self-defense. Cooper agreed.
“The decision to not file charges on Keller was a simple application of Indiana law and should not be looked upon as condoning the behavior of either party,” Cooper said
The neighbors have been in a long-running dispute. Keller and Weigle have clashed more than a dozen times since 2009, according to Johnson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The men argued about a range of things, including the location of a fence, Keller’s dogs and Weigle’s motorcycle.
On Sept. 9, 2011, officers arrested both men on battery charges after a fight. During the scuffle, Keller was stabbed in the arm and Weigle suffered cuts, scratches and bite wounds, according to a police report.”
I believe the rule here at Barstool Sports is that you’re allowed three ‘must watch’ videos per year, a rule that I wholeheartedly side with because throwing around the words ‘must watch’ all willy nilly devalues a truly must watch video faster than a dollar bill on Wall St. in 1929. BUT, for lack of a better term, I’m going to anoint this neighborly scoff a must watch video. Not because of the shootout, I’ve seen plenty of gunfire. Not because I enjoy watching low class scum duke it out, I’ve seen plenty of WorldStar fights. I’m tagging this video as ‘must watch’ because of the ‘your mom’ joke. There are certain things in our great culture that will never be not funny. Farts, 69 jokes (nice), people getting hit in the face, and ‘your mom jokes.’ There’s nothing that pierces the soul quite like a dig at your mother’s smelly vagina during the course of a heated argument, especially when the insult is coming from the lips of the Hatfield to your McCoy. It’s one thing if a stranger disses you leaving the bar or at a sporting event. Generally, in those situations, cooler heads prevail, but when your arch nemesis openly mocks the woman responsible for bringing you into this world, then you have no choice but result to drastic measures. Would I go as far as producing a firearm and risking significant jail time for attempted murder? Probably not, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned from growing up in America’s Heartland, it’s that the people here have guns and they’re not afraid to use them.
