You know, my pal Nate makes a lot of internet jokes. He’s all about the internet jokes. I want to be very clear that this isn’t an internet joke. Snoop Dogg is a UFC commentator for real.

ESPN- UFC has signed a unique play-by-play commentator for the launch of its new, live fight series set to debut next month: entertainment icon Snoop Dogg. The show, “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series,” debuts July 11 and will air on UFC’s internet subscription service Fight Pass. It will consist of five live fights every Tuesday in Las Vegas, featuring talent that is not yet signed to the company.

A traditional commentary team is expected to be announced shortly, but viewers will also have a secondary audio option titled “SnoopCast,” which will feature the hip-hop artist alongside retired fighter Urijah Faber. The pair will provide commentary from on-site.

Hit the music, Conor!

This is one of my favorite UFC moves in recent years. First off, for those who don’t know what Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series is, here’s a quick rundown:

-Every Tuesday night on Fight Pass
-Prospect city, bitch! All guys we’re unsure of, and we get to see if they can make it or break it with the bright lights on. Helps build stars, because losses here don’t matter nearly as much. Helps spot stars, because it’s a huge platform.
-Takes place in the TUF gym in Vegas

So now, if you want to fuck around and have fun watching the fights, and not hear analysis (much like Joe Rogan’s fight companion), you can! Snoop Dogg and Urijah Faber will call the action on a separate channel called SnoopCast. He’s a HUGE fan of the sport and is good buddies with Dana White, so I think he’ll actually be decently knowledgable if he wants to be.

Snoop should also enter the USADA testing pool, and they should NOT allow him to commentate unless he’s regularly failing the tests. Plus I’d just like to see all of the violations, it’d be funny. Check out GNN News with Dana White and strap in for a fun ride. Or get high or something if you want, it’s a party weekend. I think Snoop would be down with you celebrating that way.
