A Congressional Team Put Out A Legislative Draft About Legalizing Gambling And I'm Happy

ESPN- A congressional committee on Thursday unveiled a draft of comprehensive legislation that would repeal the federal prohibition on sports betting and allow states to legalize online gambling. The GAME Act defines a bet or wager as “the risking of something of value including virtual currency or virtual items, upon the outcome of a contest of others, a sporting event or a game of skill or a game of chance, on the expectation that the person will receive something of value in the event of a certain outcome.” Participation in lotteries, sports bets, fantasy sports and “fantasy esports” is included in definition of a bet or wager, according to the legislation. “President Trump will have sports betting legislation on his desk during his term,” American Gaming Association president and CEO Geoff Freeman has said.

Please, please, please, please, please. One step closer. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. That is a world class legislation. You bet your ass participation in lotteries, sports betting, and fantasy sports fit into the definition of a bet or wager! Fits like a fucking glove.

I got a half-chub when I read this line of the article: “President Trump Will have sports betting legislation on his desk during his term”. I’ve waited this long. You’ve waited this long. We’ve allll waited this long. I can wait a few more years, but that is the MAXIMUM. Listen a lot of people may not love Trump- maybe not a fan of his views on healthcare, his denial of climate change, or his perceived tax cuts for the rich, but Donald J. Trump is the man I want behind the helm of a gambling operation. I swear to god if he gets impeached before this is in motion.

Realistically, getting a draft in place could be a big deal on this seemingly never-ending journey to justice. It’s even better that a New Jersey resident, Frank Pallone, is the man leading the charge (Shoutout to New Jersey for being one of only 3 states in the country with balls). Will it become reality? Nobody knows, but I love seeing steps are being taken.
