Mike Trout Has Homered In Four Straight Games, Is A Freak Of Nature

How good is Mike Trout? So good that when he homers in back-to-back games, you’re like meh. Three games in a row, okay cool. But four games in a row? Alright, we see you, bro. When you’re the best baseball player on planet earth, the bar is set pretty high in terms of the wow factor, because he’s already shown us so much even though he’s only 25 years old.

Regardless of his age, here we are in Trout’s sixth full season at the big league level and he’s already moonwalking to his third MVP award, second consecutive. Coming into play today, Trout leads the league in on-base percentage (.450), slugging percentage (.752), OPS (1.202), OPS + (233), and total bases (94). He’s also second in batting (.352), and is already almost a three-win player with an MLB-best 2.7 WAR.

The guy’s a freak. It’s almost boring to write about him, because it’s just, what else can you say that hasn’t already been said? He’s the best. One of the most enjoyable aspects about being a sports fan is getting into heated debates over topics that don’t really have a clear answer to them. There’s no debate here. Trout is the best player in baseball, and when it’s all said and done, he’ll be in the conversation for one of the greatest baseball players who ever played the game. For the love of God, get this kid back to the postseason several more times during his prime years.
