As Quickly As It Went Up, LaVar Ball's Son's Rap Is Taken Off Of Soundcloud

UPDATE: Lonzo already took the song off Soundcloud. You know that his dad realized that people were getting too into the track, and realized that he could monetize. So it’s probably a new operative from LaVar; no freestyle. If anything, it’s a paystyle and we’re selling these tracks. BBB definitely just became a record label.

Luckily the track internet had quick enough fingers to save the file.

Lonzo Ball came out with a rap song. He sounded good. Sure, the beat was already fire, and would probably make anyone sound good, including the Lil Uzi Vert knockoff that followed him on the song. Sure, he just did some plug and play action with the flow that Drake already used on the song. He just took the flow and plugged in his own lyrics. But that’s pretty much what rap is nowadays. He stayed out of the way.

As it turns out, its not the first time that Lonzo has gotten into the rap game. A couple months ago he blessed the internets with the So Far Gone Challenge.

The immediate question is whether he is ready to challenge Dame Lillard as the best rapper in the NBA right now. He’s more ready to see him in the booth than on the court, but Zo can’t hang with Dame in either medium quite yet.

A bigger problem might be on how well Lonzo is prepared to transition as smoothly to the NBA. It was hard to watch the Bulls in the first round with Michael Carter-Williams failing to run the point so miserably, because every time I watch MCW I see a little more of Lonzo’s game. I’ve been at the point where I am in love with every guard prospect in the draft and I know they’re not all gonna be studs. I’m starting to worry Lonzo is the one that’s not going to deliver.
