Astros Win Again Despite Falling Behind 5-0 To The Texas Rangers

In getting their Major League-best 12th come-from-behind win, the Astros rallied from five runs down to win for the third time this season. Prior to this year, the Astros had not come back from a five-run deficit since May 15, 2008, at San Francisco.

“I think we always feel like we have a good shot [to come back],” said Astros manager A.J. Hinch, whose club tied the best start in franchise history at 18-9. “It gets increasingly difficult as the game goes on.”

This Astros team is just straight up fun to watch. 12 come-from-behind-wins on only May 3rd is seemingly pretty good. Resolve, folks. Ever heard of it? The Astros were down 5-0 after giving 4 solo home runs before the slow climb back into the game took place.

Jose Altuve’s adorable little self cut into the lead in the bottom of the 4th with this shot to right.

In the 5th inning, Marwin Gonzalez hit a solo home run after a 10 pitch at bat to make the game 5-3. The bullpen was pretty solid and gave the team a chance to take the lead.

Bottom of the 8th with the bases loaded and Marwin Gonzalez was up to bat again.

Grand slams are good.
