Giants Draft DT Dalvin Tomlinson And QB/Swagger Magnet Davis Webb

So the Giants tried to fill the big hole Jonathan Hankins left behind with their 2nd pick. Again, I want offensive line help just as much, if not more, than the next Giants fan. But if the Giants didn’t think a good enough player was there, then who am I to argue. I was shocked however that they passed on Zach Cunningham after Reese went down to visit Vandy last month. And while I don’t think Snacks needs help eating running backs whole up front, I’m sure he’ll gladly take it. If Lando Commando is happy, so am I.

Kinda happy the Giants took a Bama player, because I was starting to hate the Tide when the Redskins were scooping them up pick by pick. Obviously there are no great highlights of Tomlinson on YouTube since he is a defensive tackle. But he apparently is a goddamn Renaissance man.

Yup, I’m officially in love with Dalvin Tomlinson.

As for the 3rd round pick.

And speaking of guys that will steal yo girl, Benny Mac is looking fresh as fuck as expected. Handsomeness doesn’t have an offseason.

Nothing better than passing the patented Benjamin Lee McAdoo gut check. You know who else trusted his gut? Luke Skywalker when he blew up the Death Star. Plus you can’t discount a guy with intangibles like Dak Prescott!

I bet the Giants left a paper cup on the ground at the combine and saw Webb throw it away. The only thing the separates Webb from Dak is that Webb was drafted a round earlier AKA a round better than Dak. Real excited for the future.

Something tells me that PFT is going to looooove Davis Webb.

Is winning the Senior Bowl MVP good?

That was a rhetorical question. Davis Webb proved without a shadow of a doubt that he is the best senior in this draft. What a steal.

Of course we have college highlights of Webb so we can fall in love with him as well.

Not sure if having your most viewed YouTube highlights titled Adversity is a good thing or not. And drafting a quarterback that lost his job at his previous college doesn’t seem like a good thing, even though an injury played a part in that. But Webb did take Baker Mayfield’s job once upon a time, before losing it to Pat Mahomes. Then again, Pat Mahomes went in the Top 10, so it wasn’t like some bum took Webb’s job. Mahomes is so good, we had an old fashioned source war break out on Twitter over whether the Giants tried to trade up for him.

In the end, I’m fine with taking a QB here. Yeah it feels like the Nassib pick again. QB that “could” have snuck into the first round but instead went later in the draft and could be forgettable. Unless the Giants absolutely hadddd to have a quarterback, I’d rather use the first few picks on players that can contribute now. Eli has a few productive years left, so we might as well go all-in when we can and improve the team around him for the next few years. But it’s always worth trying to hit the lottery when the opportunity presents itself. Eli took us out of QB Roulette Hell, but we won’t be out of there forever. The Seahawks did the same thing on the free agent market and in the draft and they hit BIG on Russell Wilson. It’s the reason the Bears traded those picks to move up one spot and take a QB with some question marks. I don’t know if Davis Webb is going to be good or absolutely stinnnnnnk. But I do know that the QB position is the most important position in all of sports. Again, I would have loved some O-Line depth, but apparently Jerry Reese hates the O-Linemen in this draft more than I hate vegetables. And if we are being honest, Eli is best when there’s a little bit of fire under his ass, whether it’s Tiki throwing him under the bus or some new hotshot in town that may be looking to steal his job/wife.
