I Am Very American And Still Got Chills For The Canadian National Anthem In Edmonton

Maybe my second favorite anthem ever (#1 will always be Rene Rancourt after the Marathon Bombing. That’s impossible to top). But still, this was fucking awesome. The second I realized this dude was belting out O Canada from the stands I knew I was in for a treat. You know it’s special when a guy like Milan Lucic, who was there for the Marathon Bombing rendition, is looking around, awestricken, during the damn thing…

But on top of this just being cool to watch, can something like this be the catalyst that forces the NHL to put basically every Canadian team in the playoffs? We’re very lucky this year, we’ve got 5 O6 teams and and 5 out of the 7 Canadian teams. It’s pretty close to perfect because San Jose and Nashville are actually pretty great warm weather hockey towns. But if you don’t have passion like this then you just shouldn’t be allowed to participate in the playoffs. If your arena won’t be rocking then the honor goes to the next team that will.

Playoff hockey is too important for bullshit warm weather teams, give it to the people who are gonna sing and scream their hearts out.

And lose. The Canadian teams will also all probably lose, like they did last night.
