NHL Playoffs Hype Video Of The Day: Canadian Teams Edition

The only thing better than Stanley Cup Playoff Hype videos is more hype videos. In yesterday’s blog I said I would submit team hype videos for whoever sent them in. Well today is Canada Day. Got dozens of videos sent to me. Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, and Edmonton are ready to get hype. Calgary…you should be ashamed of yourselves. Probably gonna get swept because I couldn’t even find a hype video anywhere on the internet. How embarassing.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Before I watched this video I had Caps in 5. Now…I’m not so sure. In terms of pure talent, the Leafs can compete.

Montreal Canadiens

Ghosts of the forum with a little twist of the knife with the Radulov goal vs Hank at the end. Habs in 7

Edmonton Oilers 

All it took was 10 years of #1 overall picks and the best player of a generation to get the Oilers back to the playoffs. Great video though. Oilers in 7

Ottawa Senators

Ranking this video 4th out of 4. Tough to come up with a highlight video for a boring team, but the effort was there. Bruins in 6

I made fun of Canada for having zero teams in the playoffs last year, but I’m glad they’re back. The NHL Playoffs are more fun when Canadian teams are involved. The energy, the Canadian National anthem, people watching in city squares. It’s awesome. And no disrespect to Florida fans, but you guys suck and you dont really care. None of the Canadian teams are going to win, but they care SO much. It’s religion for them. Which means when they inevitably get knocked there’s going to be a ton of heart break and tears. That’s what I always root for. Misery for everyone else.
