The Royals Honored The Late Yordano Ventura Before Their Home Opener
Some pretty heavy stuff here, but all things considered, the Kansas City Royals did a great job of honoring Yordano Ventura, who was killed in a car accident this past offseason. The loss of Ventura was felt greatly by his teammates, the fans of Kansas City, and all those who also called the Dominican Republic home. Fans held a vigil for Ventura after learning of his death this past January, which was attended by a handful of Royals players. I’m sure it’s been a tough offseason for everybody over there in Kansas City. Hopefully this ceremony prior to their home opener provides some closure for the players in that clubhouse and the fans who loved to watch Ventura light up the radar gun every fifth day.
