If The Minnesota Wild Want To Win A Stanley Cup, They Need To Keep These North Star Jerseys In The Rotation
The Minnesota Wild broke these bad boys out during warm ups last night before their 5-3 win over Carolina. The Parise pictures are especially great as he got to rock his dad’s bucket and mitts during the pre-game skate. For those of you who remember, Parise’s dad died a couple of seasons ago after spending 17 years in the NHL. And in the words of a late great philosopher, that’s pretty neat.
Anyway, I don’t know where the majority of people stand on the current Minnesota Wild uniforms but personally I can’t stand them. They have 3 uniforms and all of them are wildly inconsistent. They are 3 completely different uniforms aside from the colors. You’ve got the homes which aren’t terrible but look like a team that’s trying too hard to come up with a Winter Classic sweater. You’ve got the aways which is a completely different design along with a standalone logo. And then you’ve got the alternates which I guess are fine as alternates but don’t do anything for me. And considering you can only wear 2 different uniforms in the playoffs, I’m assuming they get the ax after the weekend.
All I’m saying is that I’m a firm believer in the mantra “look good, feel good, play good”. And it’s in that order for a reason. If you don’t look good, you can’t feel good. And if you don’t feel good, you can’t play good. The Minnesota Wild don’t look good. Now, at least. But they can. And all they have to do is keep that North Stars sweater in the rotation. I’m sure there’s a whole bunch of copyright issues and legal hoops they have to jump through to get that accomplished. But it’s no surprise they were able to come out with the 2 points last night after warming up in those beauties. I’m not a Corsi guy. I don’t jerk my dick to advanced analytics. I’m not going to be able to tell you which guys on the Wild had the best possession numbers to help lead them to victory last night. But I can tell that guy to go fuck off somewhere because Corsi had nothing to do with that win. It was strictly the North Stars sweater and anybody who disagrees is obviously one of those freaks who strictly uses the home and away jerseys while playing NHL 17 instead of diving deep into the throwbacks for every game.
