Huffington Post- [Officer] Jarrod Singh showed off his slick steps after the fight he was called out to police in downtown Oshawa on Sunday night turned out to be a group of University of Ontario Institute of Technology students shooting a music video.
“I saw eight people gathered around one person, so I can see how a member of the public thought it was a fight,” Singh, a constable with the Durham Regional Police Service, said in a statement. “But when I got closer I could see he was break dancing in the middle and there was someone filming it.”
I’ll never get tired of cops interacting with the public in non-cop ways. Whether it’s playing the most uncoordinated basketball, dancing, freestyling, or handing out money, these small human interactions remind us that police officers can have fun too. Having said that, this cop is on another level. Officer Singh isn’t just joining in; he’s levitating. He’s making viral content and he knows it. Is his body made of liquid gold? I thought Canadian police officers rode horses (one of the most ridiculous law enforcement branches on earth– the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or “Mounties” as they’re called up der).
Sure, the other kid was good too but that kid gets to dance all day long. Try keeping it fluid when you spend your day… accepting apologies? Issuing stern-but-gentle warnings? There’s no crime in Canada. On second thought, maybe he does have time to dance.
