Offensive Liability Alex Ovechkin Didn't Take A Shot As The Caps Won 6-3

WaPo - The Capitals scored six goals against the Red Wings on 31 shots, seemingly another routine win for a Washington team that’s rolling right now. But lost in the Capitals’ scoring display was an unusually quiet night for Ovechkin. For the first time since March 12, 2o13, he didn’t record a shot on goal, snapping a streak of 315 games. Ovechkin had four hits and two missed shots in 13:54 of ice time, just one second off his career low for a full game.
This BUM. Absolutely sickening they haven’t traded him yet. A complete liability on the ice, to the point he’s not even getting 14 minutes a night. And when he is out there, he can’t even get a shot on goal and made the Caps suffer on their way to only a 6-3 win.
The fact of the matter is it’s crazy what the Caps are doing right now. It’s nuts watching them. They are just so much better than everyone they are playing. This is an outrageous graphic:
It’s pure dominance.
5 shoutouts in the last 11 home games, and 10 straight with 5 or more goals.

So we have 27 more (somewhat pointless) regular season games before it’s time to do that fucking playoffs thing again. The Caps took their first bad beat of the season last night when Bura took a shot off the hand, and it seems to be broken. He was putting together a pretty nifty season, so hopefully he’ll be back for the playoffs. In the mean time, we have to hope everyone stays as healthy as possible, keep limiting Ovi and co.’s ice time to keep them fresh, and pray to the lord it’s really our year.
