Tom Brady Texted Isaiah Thomas After The Super Bowl And Said "It's Your Turn Next"

This is cool, no doubt about it. Anytime a superstar athlete really adopts the city and takes a vesting interest in its success and happiness it’s awesome to see. But honestly, all I read in that tweet is it must fucking SUCK to walk into the locker room after the Super Bowl and see 500 “CONGRATS DUDE!” text messages. It must suck so goddamn bad. If I have 5 unread texts I get overwhelmed and just pretend they don’t exist, and I’ve never done anything of note in my entire life, so I can’t imagine what a disaster that must be to see on your phone. It’s gotta be a sobering moment, one that almost makes winning it all not even worth it at all. Remember when you were a kid and got presents for your birthday or Christmas and you were so happy, then your parents said “Ok now go upstairs and write your thank you notes,” and you were just like, “Godddddammit I wish I never even got these presents. I asked for toys, not a responsibility.” There’s gotta be a little part of Tom that thinks that as he sat down to reply to ten million texts. He won the Super Bowl, he didn’t win a bunch of chores.

PS – People on Twitter are telling me thank you notes after Christmas weren’t a thing. If your parents raised a gentleman than they absolutely were a thing. If you didn’t have to write thank you notes any time you got a gift then you were a little, ungrateful shit.
