Eli Manning Is Your NFL Man Of The Year

PFT- The NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award could this year be called the Men of the Year Award. Giants quarterback Eli Manning and Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald are the co-Man of the Year recipients, the league announced tonight. The Man of the Year Award goes to a player who demonstrates excellence both on and off the field. Manning and Fitzgerald both have a long track record of charity and volunteer work in addition to their professional success.

There is going to be a lot of talk about MVP awards, Hall of Fame inductions, and Super Bowl winners over the next 24 hours. But Man of the Year is the award that truly matters in my eyes. There are almost 2000 NFL players, more than 300 Hall of Famers, and 32 NFL teams. But there are literally billions of men on the planet. Much bigger field of people to compete against. All those other awards are nice. But Man of the Year is the biggest award outside of any potential Human of the Year award. Best Man is muchhhhh more impressive than Best Player in my humble opinion.

And yes I know Eli split the award with Larry Fitzgearld. But Larry Fitz could win Man of the Year every season just like Michael Jordan could have won the MVP every season. Find me one person that doesn’t love Larry Fitzgerald with that beautiful smile plus boyish joy of the game and I will show you Lucifer himself.
