A Motorcycle Dude Faked An Arrest With The Help Of Cops To Propose To His Chick #Goals

AL.com – Daiwon McPherson didn’t want to take his girlfriend to a restaurant and propose. He wanted to surprise her- so, he and his friends in the motorcycle community staged a fake arrest by Mobile police, before he asked his girlfriend of five years to marry him.

She went to a nearby gas station, where she saw multiple police cars and flashing blue lights. “I thought he was going to jail!” she said. [The girlfriend Shawna] Blackmon said the scenario seemed real, because McPherson has previously been arrested for running from the police.

When Blackmon approached the officers and McPherson, she told police she was going to get her boyfriend’s gun. After digging though his pockets, McPherson pulled out a ring box and proposed.

“It never crossed my mind… I had no idea,” she said.

McPherson said he talked to Mobile police earlier in the day to arrange the proposal, and “they were all for it!”

Nothing like having guns trained on you seconds before you make a lifelong commitment of love:

Usually they’re metaphorical in most relationships. But once you get past the absurdity and slight waste of taxpayer resources, this is actually kind of sweet. I won’t pretend I understand these twos’ lives but this is clearly something that speaks to the both of their lives, one tough guy minority Southern biker right out of a Sons of Anarchy spinoff, one bad ass biker bitch who stepped right in when she saw her dude getting arrested and was willing to get gunned down right next to him if it came down to it, it’s all very personal to them. When they get married, they’re not going to get lost in their families’ wishes for the wedding, they’re probably going to get wasted off Hennessy and Cokes at a reception where chicken and waffles are heavily featured on the menu alongside a drunken brawl or too, held somewhere with copious amounts of wood paneling. It’s love at its truest and most likely to end in violence and divorce and adultery but still. Couldn’t be happier for this couple and for the cops simultaneously making a mockery of AND healing police tensions with minority communities. Tour de force performance all around.

Also these are different demographics but the hook is still so relevant for this video:
