Dangle Days Recap: Galchenyuk And Radulov Combine For One Of The Filthier Give-And-Go's You'll See

When you bring Alex Radulov to your team, obviously you’re playing with fire. He’s the kind of Russian your momma warns you about. The kind of player that could care less about losing games as long as that paycheck keeps coming in. No heart. No grit. He’s just all flash. But that’s the thing, though. No heart but he has hands for days. From his knees, dishes it right back to Galchenyuk of “Barstool Sports: The Life” fame, and then Galchenyuk goes to work. Poor Mitch Marner. Kid just wants to play in the NHL. Thought it would be all fun and games. Then out of nowhere he’s getting turned inside out by Alex Galchenyuk and put on a poster. It’s just not right. He was too young for this to happen.

It sure as heck didn’t seem like it’s still only preseason in the NHL last night. All across the league, the fellas were putting in overtime at the Sauce Factory. So here come a few more highlights because it’s Friday and I love you guys.

“I’m The Captain Now”

First “goal” for Connor McDavid while wearing the ‘C’ on his sweater. If you sneezed you might have missed that move. But it’s that quick little work with his edges that get Ben Chiarot and Ondrej Pavelec to bite so hard you’d think they were trying to eat a rock or something. So while the 2015 1st overall draft pick was making the Jets look like they were Malaysian Airliners, 2016 1st overall draft pick Auston Matthews was doing this.

“The Price Is Wrong, Bitch”

Really focus on Carey Price here. Look at him. Just standing there so lost, so helpless. Like there’s nothing he could even do about that one. That’s 2015 Vezina Trophy winner Carey Price we’re talking about. And he had nothing in return for that laser from Auston 3:16. From the looks of that shot, I’m expecting to write the “Auston Matthews Era Has Begun” blog when the Maple Leafs open up their season on the 12th in Ottawa.

The kid was just having fun out there last night. Fucking Millennials.

King Slayer

Speaking of rookies demoralizing some of the best goalies in the league, here’s Travis Konecny putting Henrik Lundqvist in his back pocket. Hank’s reaction says everything you need to know about this goal. Looks up to the heavens asking himself how did he let this happen. He thought he had every hole covered up and there wasn’t a chance in hell TK was going to sneak one by him. Turns out Konecny’s release is lightyears faster than Henrik’s glove. Then he covers his face in disgusts as he realizes he’ll have to face this kid at least 4 more times this season. Tough break.
