Pats Vs Texans "This Could Be Belichick's Most Impressive Night Ever" Live Blog
In a career of incredible, historic feats tonight might be Bill Belichick’s crowning moment. One of the best defenses in the NFL coming to town to face a rookie in his first NFL start and you know who’s genuinely worried? Practically no one. That’s astounding. Would it be a surprise to lose this game? No, I’ll admit that it wouldn’t. The Patriots could certainly take their first L of the season tonight. But playing a top-5 D in primetime with a third round pick under center and saying, “Hey, it’s possible we lose,” rather than, “Oh goddammit we’re fucked!” is incredible in and of itself.
But that’s the life we lead as parishioners at the Church of Belichick. He’s been playing mind games all week saying Garoppolo might play (he’s not) and giving Julian Edelman “extensive work” at quarterback. You know he and McDaniels have been in the lab cooking up the perfect Brissett game plan and you know this game is going to be close. Will the win? I don’t know. With Gronk back I’m saying yes and I’m going 21-14 (I’d had 17-14 but Gronk is worth 4 points). Tomorrow morning Michael Irvin’s gonna have to take his Lombardys to the engraver and get that shit fixed to say Belichick.
UPDATE: Bill Belichick is undefeated in the turtle neck plus cutsleeve sweatshirt. Never lost, never will lose. I just because VERY confident.
