Shouts To This Gorgeous Model/YouTuber Who Overcame Her Dad Kidnapping Her Because He Thought He Was Jesus When She Was 7
DM – In a video simply titled Kidnapped. My Story, young model [Natalia Taylor] recounts the day – June 24, 2004, to be exact – that she was kidnapped by her mentally-ill father at just seven years old.
In the 39-minute video, Natalia reveals that she grew up an only child in Ohio with a father who was diagnosed with paranoia and schizophrenia and was also physically abusive to her mother.
‘I would tell my mom: “I do not want to see him, he’s terrifying,”‘ Natalia remembers.
The actual kidnapping happened one day when the then-seven-year-old was being watched by her aunt and uncle while her mother was at work.
‘Dad shows up and he’s being really aggressive and really forceful with my aunt and my uncle and says that he has visitation rights, that I’m his child and that he should be able to spend the day with me and do whatever he wants,’ Natalia explains.
After hours in her father’s beat up red truck, they arrived at a church where, Natalia says, Rod began talking about his delusional beliefs.
‘He truly believed he was Jesus Christ and it’s a really terrifying thing to think that someone really thinks that they’re invincible,’ she says. ‘Like he had power over everyone in the world.’
Things really began ‘to get scary’ for Natalia when her father lost a cross necklace he had been wearing while on a roller coaster. Upon realizing it was missing, she says, ‘he started to go berserk’, telling staff that he would ‘smite them’ if they didn’t retrieve it.
Natalia eventually got out of her dad’s grasp when an offduty cop spotted Rod running a red light and reported it in leading to an insane cop chase that ended with cops running their car off the road, tasing the father, then throwing him in jail. She also says she doesn’t want him to come back or find her — which is why she uses different name now since her real name is Ashley — and that he’s currently homeless in Florida with a bunch of warrants for his arrest.
I have to say in terms of crazy stories I’ve heard from YouTuber Instagram models this is easily in the top 25, nay, top 10. I mean holy fucking shit this is like something straight out of a movie or, more likely, a Lifetime movie. But I have to admit, I always deeply admire people like this who have something so unquestionably, undeniably horrific happen in their lives and they somehow put it out of their head and move on and try to do something with themselves. Overcoming poverty, broken homes, any sort of debilitating life hurdle there is, I’m always impressed. But especially for this chick Natalia who’s putting herself out there for a career in the public eye knowing that, in theory, her dad could find her at any moment and reintroduce that horror into her life. It takes a lot of balls all around and I think you’ve got to give people props when they can rise above something like that (and bonus points for looking incredibly attractive while doing so).
So um running more of her hottest Instagram pics is kind of like supporting her as she puts the past behind her right? Feels like a bit of an awkward transition but I just want to be there for Natalia in her time of need as best I can. Don’t call me a hero, just doing my part for our girl:
