Happy NL Central Clinch Day
Today is September 15th and the Chicago Cubs are about to clinch the NL Central. I had high expectations for this season but even I will admit this day came faster than I thought. Between the Pirates and Cardinals I expected at least some fight but it never quite materialized. Since the All Star break the Cubs have been on a tear and never looked back. So here we are, ready to be the first team to punch that ticket, drink that Champagne, and start looking towards October. Yes I’m heartbroken that I’m not in Chicago right now, I’ve been pretty damn homesick ever since the move, but the good news is I just paid for all my playoff tickets so October is going to be lit, as the kids would say. Now We Go.
PS
Last night Nick Shepkowski from the Score asked me for my favorite moments from this season. Off the top of my head I went Arrieta’s no no, Kris Bryant’s 3 home run game, Javy’s mothers day walk off, the entire Seattle game (game of the year, wood in left, Lester suicide squeeze), and Rizzo’s catch. So many memories, such an awesome ride. Can’t wait for October.
