Hope Solo Called The Swedish Women's Soccer Team A Bunch Of Cowards
ESPN- Hope Solo didn’t hold back in her criticism of the Swedish team that eliminated the United States from the Olympic women’s soccer tournament in a penalty shootout Friday.
“I thought that we played a courageous game,” Solo said. “I thought that we had many opportunities on goal. I think we showed a lot of heart. We came back from a goal down; I’m very proud of this team. “I also think we played a bunch of cowards. But, you know, the best team did not win today; I strongly, firmly believe that. I think you saw America’s heart. You saw us give everything that we had today. Unfortunately the better team didn’t win.”
I’ve heard and seen way too much of Hope Solo to not fear her. Plus her husband is Jeremy Stevens. If Hope Solo says the Swedish team is a bunch of cowards, then they are a bunch of cowards. I don’t care if Sweden played the exact kind of game needed to beat a great soccer team. Or that when I used to think of Sweden, I usually of thought of hot blonde chicks and Ikea furniture. If Hope Solo says that the Swedish are cowards, then they are a bunch of milksops and the yellow on their flag represents the color of their bellies. There are certain things that you can never unhear or unsee.
