Shocker: Feminists Crying About "Sexism" In Olympic Coverage Already

Fireworks Explode Over Rio's Maracana Stadium During The 2016 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony

The Olympics are off and running and… so too is the bitching and complaining! Complainers love to complain but no one more than feminists when women succeed at shit and don’t immediately become the biggest celebrities on planet earth. This Chicago Tribune tweet has ‘em all RATTLED:

This one is simple. Nobody really cares about the Olympics. More so, nobody could give less fucks about bronze medals in women’s trap shooting in the Olympics. Duh. This tweet right here is actually the best defense OF the Tribune tweet.

Exactly. Bronze medal in trap shooting. Sweet headline. Shit wouldn’t even sniff the Chicago Tribune and you know it. And that’s not sexist, that’s just a fact. Look it up. You know what they do give a fuck about? The NFL. The Chicago Bears. Wait, that women’s trap shooter is the wife of a Bears lineman? SOLID local story. Good work Chicago Tribune. Write that interesting story and then market it with an interesting and true headline that will get people to click on that interesting story because that’s literally how your business works. Not sexism — Capitalism. Freedom of the press.

Next, we’ve got outrage over crediting an Olympian’s husband for his role as her coach: (huff post)

NBC sportscaster Dan Hicks was the first to spark outrage when he appeared to credit Hungarian swimmer Katinka Hosszu’s husband, Shane Tusup, for her world record-breaking win in the 400-meter individual medley on Saturday. As the cameras panned over to Tusup, who was also Hosszu’s coach, the commentator said, “And there’s the man responsible.”

How dare you throw around that toxic word “responsible!” How dare you credit the person that is her life partner and coach. Coach! He’s her fucking coach! Look, they credit every coach in every single sport ever. Every single time. They credit the golfer wife every single Sunday when they’re walking up 18. This guy is a coach/husband combo… of course they throw him a shoutout. It’d be insane and completely missing the story not to. But complainers gon’ complain.

Don’t worry, the Huffington Post — with impenetrable ethics and consistency — is on the case!

Finally, this last one about the US gymnastics team (huge women’s gymnastics fan btw shit’s fantastic). This one’s actually hilarious:

NBC was again accused of sexism during its coverage of women’s gymnastics on Sunday, when an as yet unidentified commentator said Team USA members looked like they “might as well be standing in the middle of a mall” after they were caught on camera laughing and talking following their utter annihilation of the competition during the qualifying round.

Hahahaha. I don’t have a great defense for this one. This was blatantly like “hey there’s a little clique of teenage girls, why aren’t they at the mall.” Very funny but maybe a little inappropriate. Whatever. Funny trumps all so it’s fine. I don’t even think it’s sexist as much as it’s this guy definitely has an annoying little teenage kid and his first thought was how shithead little teenagers just love kicking it at the mall. It’s teenageist.

Anyway, fun and predictable start to the Games. Phelps dominating the pool. Our teenage clique dominating the gym just like they dominate the mall. Our Barstool twitter account suspended. Feminists crying about sexism. Two more weeks of this, content content content! (that we can’t share)
