medal count 8-7

First day of medal events is in the books and the good guys are right at the top of the list. The Americans were expected to win the total medal count in Rio fairly easily, but predictions show that it’s gonna be a dead heat with China when it comes to gold medals. I expect that by week 2, that’ll be the main focus of these medal counts. We may not have won the most golds on day one, but we did shut down the Chinese, thanks to the sharpshooting by Ginny Thrasher.

Get yammed on bitch.

That USA-China game got so outta hand, Derozan and Butler were tossing RPS to see who would take technical free throws. So disrespectful.

The women’s soccer team beat France after a shaky start, with Carli Lloyd scoring the game’s only goal

And Kerri Walsh and April Ross swept the Australian team in straight sets, which is a shame because I kinda took a liking to those Aussie ladies

But overall a pretty good day for the Americans.

Other highlights…

Congrats on the buttsex.

One of my favorite things about the Winter Olympics is when a speedskater blows a tire and glides helplessly right into the wall. Well I think I found the equivalent. LOVE me some cycling wipeouts

I also love cycling fans. They’re absolutely nuts. I feel like there’s no rules out there, just straight anarchy

Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu spat directly in the race of the world record in the women’s 400m medley. Oh, and her husband is her coach and he’s got a few screws loose. Equally parts impressive and psychotic.

Today we’ve got some women’s hoops destruction of Senegal at 11 AM. Serena Williams takes the court at noon, and then jumps back out there for doubles with Venus at 4. And tonight we might get our first glimpse of Michael Phelps in the men’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay. The US have won that event in every Olympics they’ve entered except… London in 2012. The 4 swimmers haven’t been determined yet, but I expect Phelps to be in there and I expect there to be gold.

Our Olympic smokeshow today is Antonija Sandric, point guard for Croatia.
