The Astros were off on Thursday night, so a Rangers loss would’ve would’ve shrunk Texas’ division lead to 2 games for the first time since June 4. Texas ace Cole Hamels went 8 innings and struck out 12, while Mitch Moreland did all the heavy lifting, homering twice to hand the Royals their 16th loss in their last 25 games.
