Eagles Starting OLB Nigel Bradham Arrested For Assaulting 50-Year-Old Hotel Worker Over A Beach Umbrella
MIAMI – According to a Miami Beach Police incident report, the 26-year-old was among a group of six people who started arguing with the employee over the time it took for the worker to bring them an umbrella they had paid for. The verbal argument escalated to a physical altercation. The worker, 50-year-old Jean Courtois, told NBC 6 he needed a drill to fix the umbrella but apparently wasn’t moving fast enough for Bradham. A glass bottle was allegedly broken over Courtois’ head, causing cuts and lacerations, including one to the back of his head, the incident report charges. An arrest report claims Bradham “without provocation, struck the victim in the nose with a closed fist, causing the victim to fall to the ground.” The six people then fled the scene, running toward Ocean Drive and entering a vehicle before speeding away, authorities said. A phone was discovered at the scene, which was turned over to police as evidence along with a receipt showing Bradham paid for the umbrella with his credit card.
Culture! Oh, that’s right, we abolished that fake stance for winning once Chip Kelly got axed and we’re trying to get as far away from it as possible. The more arrests the merrier. But, of course, there’s two sides to every story. This helpless hotel worker may not have been as innocent as he claims…
I mean, if that was the case, I guess Bradham had the right to at least subdue the worker into submission. Mayyybbbeeee the NFL Thoroughbred didn’t have to hit the older worker 3 times to prove a point. And there definitely didn’t need to be a glass bottle over the skull involved. But I would suppose this would make Bradham look slightly better in the situation, even though him and his crew jetted into a car and fled the scene immediately. Oh, and there was a kid with him, too. Classy looks all around. At least this incident looks a little more positive than being accused of sexually assaulting a stripper at Cheerleaders. On a weekday. At 3pm. Like I said, culture!
The Eagles made your ho-hum, general statement saying they are aware of the incident and will handle it accordingly. Oh, but Doug Pederson has already said he “doesn’t foresee” Bradham being released from the team after the arrest. Aw, shucks, Doug. A player’s coach, indeed.
