The MLB All Star Game Anthem Was Hijacked By A "Lone Wolf" Tenor
“The Tenors are deeply sorry for the disrespectful and misguided lack of judgment by one member of the group acting as a ‘lone wolf’ today during the singing of the Canadian national anthem at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in San Diego.
The other members of the group are shocked and embarrassed by the actions of Remigio Pereira, who changed the lyrics of our treasured anthem and used this coveted platform to serve his own political views.
Our sincere apologies and regrets go out to everybody who witnessed this shameful act, to our fellow Canadians, to Major League Baseball, to our friends, families, fans and to all those affected.
The actions of one member of this group were extremely selfish and he will not be performing with The Tenors until further notice.”
This was a pretty big story before the game, The Tenors altered the lyrics to O Canada and held up an All Lives Matter sign. I didn’t think too much of it because it wasn’t even aired on FOX and who really fucking cares what some Canadian dorks do? The only a capella group I care about is Here Comes Treble.
But that was until I saw this press release from The Tenors. There was a “lone wolf” Tenor? That’s really the verbiage we’re going with on this one, “lone wolf”? It was an idiot with a sign at the All Star Game, not a mass shooting. What a whirlwind of self-importance they must have felt while the Twitter police stormed them with “delete your account” memes. Relax, The Tenors, no one actually gives a goddamn what you think or say. Let’s tone it down a notch acting like Remigio Pereira whipped out a 9mm, shot you all in the head, then revealed that he was wearing a suicide vest. He held up a stupid sign. “Lone wolf” is a tad intense.
Good on you for putting him in time out though. “Nice job, Remigio! Everyone’s mad at us now! You won’t be performing with us until further notice. Yeah, that’s right.
