CNN — House Democrats roughed up Sen. Bernie Sanders in a closed-door session Wednesday after he deflected questions about when he would formally back Hillary Clinton for president, with a group of members booing him at one point, according to three Democrats who attended the meeting.
Had kinda forgot about the Bern man. Was just minding my business when I flipped on CNN and boom, there’s Bernie answering questions about how he got boo’d in a closed-door meeting. That’s tough. It’s one thing to get boo’d in a public setting. That happens all the time. Hell I boo’d some guy for cutting the line at Dunkin this morning. But boo’ing somebody behind closed doors is ruthless. That’s meaningful. That goes from trying to make a little statement to genuinely and personally telling someone that you hate them. That you’re pissed at them. That their actions suck so much that you’re not even going to articulate your feelings towards them, you’re just going to make a really annoying noise in their direction for a while.
Tough couple days for Bernie. Yesterday his hopes of a Hillary indictment and him swooping in to snag the nomination were crushed. Today he’s boo’d behind closed doors by his colleagues. I know coming back from the long weekend was tough for all of us, but you have to have extra feels for Bernie. Guy’s just trying to make his case for free college and free health care and an entirely free existence for everyone (paid for by you and me) but he gets boo’d out the room. I don’t feel THE Bern, but I do feel FOR the Bern. Tough week.
