The Internet Digs Up The Most Hilariously Wrong Opinion Of All Time From Bill Simmons Re: Kevin Durant

TBLBack in February, actual NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski wrote an in-depth piece about how the Golden State Warriors had been planning a pitch to Kevin Durant for months. In addition to that, Wojnarowski called the Warriors the “significant frontrunners to sign him.”

On his podcast that week, Simmons ripped the report, claiming that the Warriors obviously weren’t thinking about adding Durant. He essentially accused Wojnarowki’s site “The Vertical” of trying to get clicks by reporting it.

Hilarious. I mean it’s one thing to be wrong. It’s another thing to be THIS wrong. To be so vocal and abrasive and call other people idiots and end up just dead, completely wrong, in every, single way.

“I thought that was one of the most ludicrous stories I’ve ever read.”

“(The Warriors) aren’t thinking about next year, they’re not thinking about Durant. I think it’s absurd, I just don’t believe it.”

“That is the most idiotic logic I’ve ever heard.”

“I don’t believe anything about this story, I think it’s being fed by the other teams.”

“I don’t blame them for writing those stories, it got them some traffic, some attention.”

“I never heard anybody make the point that this was fundamentally idiotic.”

And from House:

“I don’t believe one word of it.”

“It’s complete conjecture, nonsense talk, motivated by interest in silly stories.”

Hey that’s just the nature of being in the prediction business. It’s the trade-off you make. Whether you make millions upon millions of dollars with ESPN and HBO or thousands upon thousands of dollars writing and doing videos for a premiere sports/smut/entertainment franchise, you know the deal. Every now and then with all that stuff you put on the record, something is going to blow up in your face big time. It’s the internet’s jobs to bust your balls about it.

Billy Boy knows it. I would say I doubt he gives a fuck as he swan dives into Scrooge McDuck TV money, but they guy’s a little thin skinned so who knows.
