Daily MailA bald eagle was freed from a tree by a patriotic Army veteran, who spent 90 minutes firing 150 shots into three branches ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

Jason Galvin, who did two tours in Afghanistan, was on a bait run on Thursday when he spotted the eagle dangling upside down from a rope it got tangled in, according to KARE 11.

Galvin estimated the bird was hanging from the tree about 75 feet off the ground. It had been there for more than two days.

Be more American, story. You can’t! This guy does two tours in Afghanistan then the day before Fourth of July weekend he saves a dying bald eagle by firing 150 shots at a tree branch? Come on. And here we all were thinking we’re American as shit by standing near a body of water, drinking a bunch of Belgian-owned light beers and writing #merica on social media. Thinking just a quick BBQ near a cornhole game and boom, I’m a founding father. Call me Riggs Washington.

But nope, not even close. Jason Galvin here comes in guns a blazin and saves this cute little guy:

I guess it’s true what they say — not all heroes wear USA onesies.

PS – Quick reminder that our choice for our national animal was indeed an excellent choice.
