Orioles First Round Pick Cody Sedlock Wrote a Book When He Was 8 About How Much He Hates Cats

Sun - The book was called “How Dogs are Better than Cats.” The reasoning was sound — dogs will save you from a fire, or alert you to burglars in your home. Cats will cower under a couch.
And in the dream weeks that followed this month’s Major League Baseball draft, the author’s proud father has shown it to a few close friends as he accepted their congratulations. He flipped to the “About the Author” page.
“Cody Sedlock was 8 years old,” it reads. “When he grows up, he is going to be a baseball player.”

Don’t look now, but Cody Sedlock just became your new favorite player. Forget his pitching acumen and all that stuff, Cody wrote a book at 8 years old called “How Dogs Are Better Than Cats”. Dogs will save you from a fire, cats will run away scared and hide under the couch. The fact Sedlock dropped to the Orioles at number 27 is a modern day miracle. Thank goodness “How Dogs Are Better Than Cats” wasn’t discovered until after the draft or he would have gone number 1 overall, without a doubt. That’s the sort of thing you can’t teach. You can teach a guy to throw a better breaking ball. You can change a guy’s mechanics. But then there’s that innate stuff, that stuff deep down that you’re born with, the stuff you want your future ace to have. And Cody has “it”. He has that killer instinct to strike batters out and to shit on cats. That’s a 1-2 punch that makes you a first round pick. Welcome to Baltimore, Cody, and if you’re a cat person, you better watch the fuck out.
