The Red Sox needed this win really, really badly. They were on the verge of being on the wrong side of a four-game sweep at the hands of one of the worst teams in the American League. Aside from the Chris Sale game, the Red Sox would’ve, could’ve, should’ve won at least three of those four games, but they’ve been playing some pretty shitty baseball themselves lately. Even with this walk-off, there are still a handful of poor performances and poor managerial decisions that I’m going to pick apart on the blog tomorrow morning. But for now, let’s enjoy the Red Sox ending this abysmal homestand on a high note, and the fact that the Red Sox have finally developed a superstar of their own, and his name is Xander Bogaerts.
