A Black Guy Shut Down A Cop Who Pulled Him Over In An Expensive Neighborhood By Proving He Owns A Giant House Nearby
The whole “driving while black” thing where black people get pulled over just due to race is one of those situations that most non-black people can definitely understand sucks but probably can’t fully relate to without having to experience it. So to see this whole situation unfold on video was pretty interesting to behold as an impartial third (white) party. But it was even better to watch because even if I have only experienced “driving while black” through media, I fully got what a triumphant moment it was for these two guys in the car. I mean seeing a cop make this face:
after shutting him down when he couldn’t possibly believe that a black guy in a neon green shirt owned property in this neighborhood…that has to be a crowning moment in their lives. Nothing better than proving someone wrong, doing it in that short of a period of time, and also fighting off the chains of racial oppression all at once, hell of a satisfying combo. Throw in the always entertaining “cop being taken down a peg” genre and you have yourself a perfect internet video, fun for all ages and levels of melanin.
That said obviously the cop’s biggest problem was profiling a black guy with glasses. I’m pretty confident no black man wearing glasses has ever committed a crime, it’s too credible of a look. At the end even the guy in the neon shirt seemed to not mind the cop pulling over black people to protect his investment, he just wanted it to be OTHER black people. If the cop skipped black guys in glasses, he’d have avoided this situation with no risk involved. You probably shouldn’t do it in general but if you’re going to racially profile, racially profile smarter and not harder.
