NESNKentucky guard Jamal Murray reportedly dropped 79 of 100 3-point shots he took at a recent pre-NBA Draft workout for the Boston Celtics, but Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield appears to have him beat.

Hield shot 45.7 percent from 3-point land during his senior season for the Sooners, which was a career high and the first time he had shot over 40 percent from that range in a single season. Still, hitting 85 threes in any workout is quite impressive, especially if these attempts were from NBA distance. Hield is among the Celtics’ top options with the No. 3 pick in this month’s draft, assuming they don’t trade it as part of a deal for a superstar, such as Chicago Bulls forward Jimmy Butler.

Is that good? Is shooting important in basketball? What about in today’s NBA era, is there a need for 3 pointers?

Seriously how about this asshole?

Psh. That’s like saying box jumps and bench press records don’t matter during the combine. Or highlight dunk mixtapes in empty gyms aren’t important, or hitting 14 homers in BP.

In other news I think I just found out officially why I could never be an NBA GM or anything even close to that position. If I watched one of my favorite college players walk into the gym and drill 85 out of 100 3’s I’d probably trade half the team and offer him a max contract on the spot.
