PGA Tour Moves Event From Trump Doral To Mexico City, Trump Hopes They Have "Kidnapping Insurance"
DUBLIN, Ohio — The longtime PGA Tour event at Miami’s Trump Doral resort is leaving South Florida and heading to Mexico City in 2017, with an official announcement scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the Memorial Tournament. PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem is expected to announce the details of the move from Doral, which has been the site of a PGA Tour event since 1962. Adam Scott won the WGC-Cadillac Championship in March at Doral, where the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Billy Casper, Lee Trevino, Raymond Floyd, Greg Norman, Ernie Els, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson all have won. Cadillac did not renew its sponsorship of the World Golf Championship event and the PGA Tour had been in the process of trying to find a replacement.
“I just heard that the PGA Tour is taking their tournament out of Miami and moving it to Mexico,” Trump said. “It’s at Doral … they used one of my places. They’re moving their tournament; it’s the Cadillac World Golf Championship. And Cadillac’s been a great sponsor, but they’re moving it to Mexico. They’re moving it to Mexico City which, by the way, I hope they have kidnapping insurance.
“But they’re moving it to Mexico City. And I’m saying, you know, what’s going on here? It is so sad when you look at what’s going on with our country.”
There’s isn’t a single person better at the parting jab than Donald Trump. His parting jab is unmatched. Take that bolded paragraph for instance. Perfect example. It’s all pretty normal for the most part. He’s talking about the recent news of a PGA Tour event moving from a golf course he owns to Mexico City because of a sponsor. He’s really just rehashing a news event……..until the very last part. That’s when he drops the hammer.

BAM! The PGA Tour gets jabbed straight to the nose before they even know what hit them. So sneaky and so diabolical. Say what you want about Trump, but there’s simply nobody better at twisting the knife at the least second. I bet people will re-think going to the new event in Mexico City because of what Trump said and he knows that. That’s precisely why he said it. Do people get kidnapped a lot in Mexico City? I have no idea. I really don’t. In my head they do because in my head there’s a drug war going on down there 365 days a year so yeah people probably get kidnapped a lot. That’s all Trump needs. Re-affirm someone’s assumed stance on a subject, double down on it and potentially become president of the United States of America. The system works.
