The TSA Fired It's Head Of Security After He Pocketed $90,000 In Bonuses Despite The TSA Failing 95% of Security Tests

Vice - The head of the troubled US Transport Security Administration, Peter Neffenger, has fired its head of security, as the government agency that manages security at US airports faces the worst backlash since it was created in 2001. The TSA is really, really unpopular at the moment, mostly thanks to the maddeningly long lines at security checkpoints which snake around airports across the country.

It isn’t just the public who are exasperated over the glacially slow screening process. Congress is also unhappy with the agency, which was hastily established by the George W. Bush Administration as an arm of the also newly-created Department of Homeland Security just two months after the 9/11 attacks. Since its inception, the TSA has routinely failed undercover tests carried out by DHS, revealing broad flaws within the security apparatus at some of the country’s busiest travel hubs.

Last year, undercover investigators were able to smuggle fake bombs, weapons and other contraband through checkpoints in 95 percent of tests.

Kelly Hoggan, who served as head of security since 2013, landed in hot water earlier this month when the House Committee on Oversight found that he had pocketed $90,000 in bonuses during his first year on the job — despite budget cuts, regular security lapses and reported short-staffing.

Hey, that’s a step in the right direction. Fire the completely incompetent piece of shit who runs the most incompetent piece of shit government agency ever created. The TSA is without a doubt a huge joke and a colossal failure, an agency set up after 9/11 so our politicians could make it look like they are keeping us safe, when in reality they just spent billions of dollars so they could hire borderline retards to fingerbang our assholes. My favorite part of TSA is how they make you throw away water bottles that could be dangerous…right into the trashcan next to the line of 5,000 people trying to get through security.

The thing that sucks is you can’t say a bad word about TSA without people being like “herp derp 9/11, herp derp keeping us safe”. Which is fair, to a point. TSA was set up to keep us safe, the problem is there is no evidence whatsoever that they actually do. And that’s a BIG problem. Failing 95% of tests is a bit of a problem, yeah?  Having thousands upon thousands of people miss their flights because they can’t orderly get people through security is a bit of a problem, yeah? And the fact that TSA only “protects” us from things that have already happened (i.e. taking off our shoes…I mean…they spent billions on those “look at your dick” x-ray machines but we still have to walk barefoot through the airport?), but not from things that could potentially happen.

It seems that little by little, people are realizing what a bad idea TSA is. Privatize that shit and let’s make flying great again (and safer too!)
