CSN Anchor Drinks On Air Lamenting About The Caps Elimination

Great video. That’s pretty much all of us. Just Ron Burgandy’ing around, bummed about another early exit from the playoffs. Every year it’s the same things- 1) this is the year, 2) elimination, 3) sadness, 4) hope for next year. I’m pretty much an expert at it. Maryland Hoops, Nats, and Caps all have given me my fair share of hope, only to kick me in the balls, pedigree me onto thumbtacks, and pin me for the 1-2-3. Nothing else to do but drink for a few days and then mentally prepare yourself for a long season next year. The good news is the Caps are really good and the Stanley Cup window is still open (oh god I’ve started this already). The bad news is the Caps are really good and the Stanley Cup window is still open, which means the disappointment window is too. But as I’ve said 1,000 times, I’m never going to stop believing in this team. Especially with the current group of guys. All these lows will be worth the high. 42 years without a Cup will be worth it when they win their first. And fuck you if you don’t see honor in sticking by your team through it all. Chicago hasn’t given up on the Cubs, and I’m not turning my back on the Caps. I will drink for a few more days, but that’s well deserved.
