The Day After Bryce Was Walked 6 Times, Dusty Has Decided To Keep Zimmerman 4th in the Lineup

Dusty isn’t a fair-weather guy. Ok. I can live with that. I like that he has faith in his guys. That’s nice. You need that in a manager. But apparently he’s also not a “want to win” guy, because there is no other reason not to flip-flop Zim and Murphy in the lineup. I love Ryan Zimmerman. He’s given everything to this organization. But sometimes you have to do what’s best for business and keeping Zim at cleanup is certainly not the key to winning baseball games. Zimmerman wasn’t even good last year in his limited time playing, and he’s gotten worse this year. What he needs more than anything is to move Zimmerman down in the lineup and let him get some confidence back. Bryce was intentionally walked twice yesterday to load the bases because Zimmerman scares nobody. And Zim proved them right time and time again. Murphy, meanwhile, is hitting .395. Maybeeeee he should be moved up to the 4 spot and Zim down to the 5, I don’t know, just spit ballin over here.

I like Dusty’s loyalty. He’s player’s manager. People love playing for him. But Ryan Zimmerman has to understand that he’s not best fit for the clean up spot right now. Surely he’d understand that, being a veteran and all. Gotta do what’s best for the team and right now, keeping the lineup the same is certainly not it.
