This was an absolute bomb by my friend Mike (Napoli) to give him his fifth home run of the season for the Indians. You know, a lot gets made about the big money free agents who sign and underperform, but how about the free agents who sign for chump change and perform above their pay grade? After going 2-for-5 with a three-run home run on Thursday, Napoli now leads the Tribe in home runs and RBIs (17), and is just four points shy of Carlos Santana for the team lead in slugging percentage (.461). The Indians added Napoli on a one-year, $7 million deal this past offseason, but he can earn an additional $3 million in bonuses based on plate appearances. With 23 games under his belt in 2016, Napoli’s on pace to hit 32 homers and drive in 110 runs.
