Eagles Lock Up Nolan Carroll With A Nice Little 1-Year-Deal

PFT – Nolan Carroll was the best cornerback for the Eagles for much of last season, but his return to the team in 2016 was hardly a sure thing when free agency opened. Carroll visited the Cowboys while the Eagles first focused on trading away several players and then moved on to signing former Bills corners Leodis McKelvin and Ron Brooks as free agents. Carroll didn’t sign with any other teams, though, and the door to a Philly return remained open. According to multiple reports, Carroll has walked back through it by agreeing to a one-year deal to stay with the Eagles.

OK HOWIE. A beautiful low risk, high reward play for a decent 29-year-old guy who is coming off a rough injury. In fact, it’s a damn steal. Carroll was arguably the best cornerback all year for the Eagles in ’15. If he can return to that starting level then this secondary, along with that beast McLeod they just signed, could be a deadly force.

See, I’m not going to be a hater for the sake of being a hater. Sure, I despise Roseman for being a lamprey living off of Lurie’s right nut and the way he uses relationships. But if Howie can find a way to draft the way he cooks the books then we’re going to have ourselves a respectable relationship. Almost every single FA move he’s made (note: FA move, not trades) has been a win. All in all, I may be coming around. Or at the very least drinking the Kool-Aid that’s being waterboarded down my face. Well done, shrew.
