All the credit in the world to Cleveland Indians closer Cody Allen, who completely kept his composure while getting water balloons thrown at him during this interview. And honestly, that’s what it takes to be a great closer. When the world around you is chaos, you have to be calm, cool and collected. That’s why Allen is one of the best closers in the game today. Last year, Allen struck out 99 batters in 69.1 innings. That equals out to being 12.9 strikeouts per nine innings, all while saving 34 games for the Tribe. I don’t know why they’re flying so low under the radar, but the Indians have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. Headed by former Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber, the Indians’ rotation also boasts Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar, all three of which were in the top ten best pitchers in the American League last year. I guess we can throw a Trevor Bauer mention in here, but only because the blog about him freaking out over the person who called the cops on him for flying his drone is probably my favorite blog I’ve written since Barstool Baseball started.
