(Eagles won that game, but fuck if that wasn’t the Birds 2015 season in a nutshell)
Philly.com - The Eagles are hosting veteran cornerback Leodis McKelvin for a visit on Tuesday, league sources confirmed. McKelvin, 30, was released by the Buffalo Bills on Friday after eight seasons with the team. He does not need to wait until the new league year to sign a deal –- he is free to sign with any team at any time. The 2008 first-round pick was a starter for parts of his entire Bills career. He started nine games in 2014 when Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz ran the Bills’ defense. He is 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds with 13 career interceptions. McKelvin has also been a standout returner, with three punt return touchdowns and one kick return touchdown in his career. McKelvin has struggled with injuries and played 16 games just three times in his career. He started last season on the injured list with an ankle injury and was limited to nine games and five starts.
And so Free Agency begins. All that money is Howie just collected for his change purse is going to go somewhere. I guess this is a fine play for what it is. McKelvin hasn’t been a lock down corner by any means like his #8 overall pick suggested, but at 30 he’s still very serviceable at CB when healthy, which is of course almost never. And he has always been a threat to take it to the house on punt and kick off returns. So, yeah, I guess if Jimmy S liked what he saw his one year in Buffalo where he had his Top 5 D, then it’s good enough for me. Welcome to the shitstorm, McKelvin. All you have to do is put some effort in tackling better than Ms. Maxwell and you at least won’t have your dick boo’d off.
Tried to find some Leodis McKelvin highlights on YouTube and this, seriously, was at near the top of the list. Not a good look.
