Oh, ya know. Just the best player in baseball being the best player in baseball. I had someone tweet me the other day and ask if they should take Giancarlo Stanton or Bryce Harper with the first overall pick in their fantasy draft. How is it that it’s still not a widely recognized thing that Mike Trout is the best player in the game? Taking nothing away from guys like Harper and Stanton, but nobody brings to the table what Trout does as an all around player. I didn’t think it was possible to be the best player in the game and still be somewhat underrated. Is it because his home runs don’t go 500 feet? Is it because he doesn’t have a cocky attitude, so people don’t notice him as much? Is it because nobody cares about the Angels? I don’t know. I’m not saying nobody views him as the best player in the game. That’d be ridiculous. It’s probably the majority opinion, but it should be a unanimous opinion. I honestly think that not enough people appreciate his greatness. He’s had four full seasons at the big league level, three MVP runner-up finishes and an MVP. Oh, and he’s only 24. Yes, you want to pick Mike Trout with the first overall pick in your fantasy draft. What planet am I on?
