Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
Been on a pretty good roll lately. Last Friday was solid.
Good production from the blog picks of Boogie, Kyrie and Jeff Green. Try to keep that hot streak going.
Another huge slate tonight so let’s dive into it. Three plays from the three tiers, plus some brainstorming at the end.
PF Anthony Davis $10K
When you look at the prices of Westbrook, Boogie and Durant, Anthony Davis is basically a value play. He’s back up to the 5 digit salary slot, but he’s still underpriced for his upside. Of course, that price is low because he’s been inconsistent and keeps getting hurt, so there’s obviously always a risk playing him. But we all know what kind of games Brow is capable of, and he’s my top play of the night (price considered) against the tanking Wolves.
SF Nicolas Batum $6.7K
Batum is back, healthy, and promptly dropping 50 point games again. Kind of wish he didn’t have that explosion last time out so he’d be more under the radar, but he’s still desperately underpriced and I think has a great shot of having a monster game tonight. He’s been known to disappoint me in the past and I try to avoid him more often than playing him, but the spot is just too good tonight and the price is just too cheap.
VALUE PLAY SG Etwaun Moore $4.9K
Jimmy Butler is out again, which means two things – bump up D Rose, and slot in E’Twaun as your value SG then move on. Had 32 last game with Butler out and 40+ in the one he initially got hurt (had a little dud in between, don’t mind that). Somebody getting this type of run and with 45 point upside for under 5K is a set it and forget it for me.
PG: Good cluster of PGs tonight – Kyrie, D Rose, Jrue and Conley all solid. If I had to give the edge to one I’d say it’s a Kyrie night. Or if you insist on paying up for Westbrook, he should have no problem putting up a triple double even in limited minutes tonight.
SG: Oladipo is a safe play here, but I like the upsides of Barton and Archie Goodwin better – both cheap too. Marco Belinelli always becomes a nice punt if Gay is ruled out.
SF: Batum’s my top play at the 3 but there are some great options here: paying up for Lebron or Durant, or going cheaper with Stanley Johnson and Kent Bazemore.
PF: I like Thad and Markieff as my two cheaper options if I’m not paying up for Brow. Aaron Gordon is coming off a 48 pointer and has switched positions, so you could consider him also.
C: It’s a battle between Jokic and Dieng for my top 2 centers of the night. Both have been beasts, both are still too cheap, and both have good matchups tonight. Or, you may be better off going contrarian here and paying up for Brook Lopez in tournaments, to get off the chalk.
That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.
Also got a pretty sweet tool for everyone to check out. RotoGrinders is the main site I’ve been using for the past year for matchup charts and expert analysis (real experts, not bloggers doing this in their free time), and they have an app now that pushes all NBA injury news directly to your phone the second it hits the wire. So if you’re like me and keep getting screwed by last minute scratches because you didn’t check Twitter in time, or if you want to get a leg up in tournaments by grabbing late breaking value plays, I highly recommend it.
Oh, and it’s free.
