Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Picks - February 5

kmarkoNBA

Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.

Good night.

Got 127 from the blog picks of Davis, Morris and Stanley Johnson. Davis turned it on late to hit value, Morris was a little bit of a let down, but Stanley made up for it with a monster night.

Have to make it quick today because I spent all my time doing the Super Bowl Prop Bets blog but here are my plays for Friday night.

PF Boogie Cousins $11.3K

Boogie’s price is so oppressive that it actually makes him a more attractive tournament play to me. When you see guys like LeBron and John Wall for almost 2000 bucks cheaper it makes it hard to splurge this much on one guy, especially one with a sore ankle and history of quick ejections for technicals. So, hopefully people stay off him, because for the top price tier of picks, nobody has the massive upside that Cousins has.

PG Kyrie Irving $6.8K

I like Kyrie plenty tonight, but he gets the bump to the feature spot because of how weak PG is. I think Wall is the top play, but borderline impossible to fit with Boogie – after that it’s a toss up for who can hit true tournament value. Kyrie has steadily been stepping up his fantasy output, has a nice string of 35+ point games, is still fairly cheap, and has a nice matchup with Boston.

VALUE PLAY Jeff Green $5.7K

A little pricier than I like my value plays, but I wasn’t confident enough in the real low end options tonight. And Jeff Green has been great lately. Guy just goes out there and chucks it. I definitely worry about him regressing soon because he’s historically been a trick fantasy play, but the matchup with the Knicks tonight is good enough to feel good about his keeping it going.

Other plays…

PG: Wall and Kyrie. I may check out Jeff Teague and Mike Conley a little bit.

SG: Oladipo is probably my favorite play here with price considered. Rodney Hood could be a nice play after he burned everybody last time out. Wayne Ellington is a good value play against the Kings, but don’t expect life changing numbers.

SF: Lebron’s in a good spot here, Gay and Hayward have been killing it lately. Still loving MKG, and Aaron Gordon crushed me last time out but he’s got the talent to intrigue me. Maybe some Gallo.

PF: If I can’t swing the price on Boogie I guess I like LaMarcus. Thad Young puts up a ton of duds but could be a good play. Kevin Love has been solid…Jordan Hill with Mahinmi out…Marvin Williams is always sneaky.

C: Like DeAndre Jordan and Brook Lopez up top, and Myles Turner and Jokic down lower.

That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.

Also got a pretty sweet tool for everyone to check out. RotoGrinders is the main site I’ve been using for the past year for matchup charts and expert analysis (real experts, not bloggers doing this in their free time), and they have an app now that pushes all NBA injury news directly to your phone the second it hits the wire. So if you’re like me and keep getting screwed by last minute scratches because you didn’t check Twitter in time, or if you want to get a leg up in tournaments by grabbing late breaking value plays, I highly recommend it.

Oh, and it’s free.
