Hingham Police Department Asks For Support For Family Of Hingham Marine Corporal Christopher Orlando As They Return Home

(HPD) Our community is invited to show their support for the family of USMC Corporal Christopher Orlando Tuesday as the family returns from Hawaii. The family is set to arrive at Logan Airport at 6:12pm Tuesday (Jan. 26). They will be escorted by the Massachusetts State Police from the airport to Hingham.

Hingham Police will join the escort as it arrives in Hingham. The route will be north on Main St., continuing on East St. and ending on Summer St.

As a sign of our support, people are encouraged to stand along the route, holding flags. Those along the route should remain silent as a sign of respect.

In addition, we remind people to park and stand off the road, for their safety, as all roads will remain open to traffic.

Please note, this outpouring honors the family’s continued request for privacy.

We will post any updates or changes on our Twitter and Facebook accounts. The Hingham Veteran’s Services does have hand held flags available for those who need them.

Not much to really add here except to say ‘thank you’. Semper Fi. And God Bless.

(Corporal Orlando was killed along with 11 fellow Marines during a training mission off the coast of Hawaii last week.)
