Cal State San Marcos AXO Sorority Video #PrayForTheSportingNews

Sporting News is dead. The Cauldron is dead. Sororities across the country continue to kill them. Too much girl. Too much bikini. Too much attractiveness.

If I had my way I’d quit, take the first offer I got at whatever super PC blog would have me, and immediately write a 10,000 word thinkpiece on instituting Middle Eastern-type values of shrouding all our women in burkas to prevent them from ever being objectified, but I’m stuck here. Such a shame.

Oh yeah, I was reading this yesterday too. How much does it cost to make one of these things?

In the scantily clad spot, beautiful members of the sisterhood—described as “a place where girls from all corners of the world strive to be better versions of themselves” on the official DG website—snuggle aboard a luxury cruiser, show off their longboard skills, and balance pineapples on top of their heads.

But how much could this sunshine-drenched spectacle (produced by a single-man, aerial-shot wizard named Artec) really cost? We asked the creative director of a New York–based ad agency to crunch the numbers for us:

“We believe it was shot on a moving rig and one of the newer drones (not a helicopter). The combination of three days at least, a good camera (because of the slo-mo), rented boats (speedboat and sailboat), possibly a rented beach, a rented hotel, and post production, could come to $400K. But even if all the locations were donated (dads’ boats, et cetera), we’re looking at $200K.”

There you have it, folks: $200,000-$400,000. Annual full-time tuition at the University of Miami reportedly hovers around the $50K mark, but look at what all that hard-earned cash will get your little Hurricane!

Can’t help but feel like the tone is a little snarky. Best money ever spent in my humble opinion.
