Braden Holtby Stays Hot, Moves to 18-0-2 In His Last 20 Games Because He's Not Human

The Caps uncharacteristically conceded 35 shots to the lowly Islanders last night, but it didn’t matter. Why? Because Braden Holtby is not human. I don’t know if he’s an alien, I don’t know if he’s a robot, but what I do know is he’s the best in the world at his job right now. Absolutely sensational game again last night, stopping 34 shots en route to another 4-1 Caps win. He’s 1st in the league in wins, 3rd in the league in GAA, and 4th in save %. If I had to guess, just off the top of my head, I would venture to say he’s 1st by a wide margin in games giving up only 1 goal. I don’t know how to look that up but I feel it’s every other game he wins 3-1 or 4-1.

Kinda unfair when this guy is staring back at you

Meanwhile, Ovi stayed hot, scoring this awesome goal. Fantastic work by the bench here, and great hustle by Ovi to get back in the play.

That was number 497 for Ovi, counting down to number 500 which I assume will happen on Sunday right as the Redskins are beating the Packers. Going to be a great Sunday if my Natestradamus brain is working.

I now understand what Pats fans mean when they say they want to jump straight to the playoffs. The Caps have nothing left to prove in the regular season. They are clearly the best team in the league, I worry night in and night out about Holtby or Ovi or Kuzy getting hurt. And we still have over half the season left. The Caps are head and shoulders above the rest of the East at the moment, and it’s not even close. Hate that they have to keep playing these meaningless games and risk someone getting hurt.
