GASE RACE: Eagles And Adam Gase Reported To Have Mutually Rubbed Each Other The Right Way

You sly, squirrely offensive beauty you.

There are also rumblings Gase likes the situation in Philly so much that other inquiring teams – Cle, Mia, NYG (as of now) – are going to have to “Blow him away” if the Eagles make an offer. That’s good, right? I mean, I think I’m the only one on the fence with this guy. Yes – He’s a great offensive coach. That’s obvious when both Peyton and Cutler had career years under his tutelage. Yes – He’s going to and deserves a chance as a head coach. But why is everyone labeling him as an offensive genius? What separates him from any other OC that’s in his position to be the HNIC?

I can see why both sides see a fit here in town. Lurie wants a good, safe pick that’ll fit into his community. Howie wants someone who won’t request control over player personnel. And Gase wants to be put in the best possible situation to succeed, and like it or not the Eagles probably have the most talented roster among teams that need a new HC. That’s not even discounting Bradford would be Gase’s wet dream this side of Manning- A big, accurate, pocket passer who for the most part will make the right decisions. I just…I don’t know. I suppose if it’s a question between Gase and anyone else outside of Sean Payton, we gotta hammer Adam to a cross in South Philly and not letting him leave, right? I’d still love to hear what McDaniels and Particia have to say and still wait around to see if we can get Payton, but I think this could be it solely because we would have to strike first. If the second interview goes well on Saturday, there may be a press conference with Gase in a Birds hat by Monday. And frankly, I’ll take that over stalling our balls off, missing out, and having to settle for a Hue Jackson, Sean McDermitt, or (shit me in the face) Doug Pederson.

PS – Giants OC Ben McAroo is scheduled to interview tomorrow. HARD pass, por favor.
